One of the most common questions we hear from new clients is whether they should standardize on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. Both are mature, secure and affordable. The right answer depends on your team, your industry and the applications you rely on.
Where Microsoft 365 shines
Businesses that live in Excel, Word and Outlook, organizations with compliance requirements, and companies that need tight integration with Windows devices and line-of-business software generally find Microsoft 365 the better fit. Teams has also become the default meeting and chat platform for many of our clients.
Where Google Workspace shines
Teams that collaborate heavily in real time, organizations with a large share of Chromebook or Mac users, and businesses that value simplicity often prefer Google Workspace. Its administration is straightforward and its sharing model is easy for staff to learn.
Our recommendation
For the majority of our clients in professional services and healthcare, we recommend Microsoft 365 because of its security tooling, compliance features and the depth of its desktop applications. That said, we support both platforms and will never push a migration that does not serve your business.
Whichever platform you choose, the keys to success are the same: proper licensing, a clean migration, multi-factor authentication, backups and ongoing management.
